Worldwide Aeros 40B-18 in Germany

Since last year it was known that the Berlin "Argos Medien AG" (a Media Company) bought a Worldwide Aeros 40B-Blimp, an airship similar to the A-60+ Lightships. At this time the airship is on a Roadtour through Germany. The blimp will be used as a cameraplatform and for advertising with banners, too. On May 12th, 2001 the airship visited Frankfurt am Main and its "Skyscraper-Festival"... Some technical "specials are the x-configuration of the empennage and the pneumatic controls.

The blimp has now a banner of the Commerzbank and is touring through Germany... The tour ends in October 2001...

It was impressive and so 7.500 visitors came to celebrate this event. Absolutely unique !!!

Zeppelin NT recieved type certification

On April 26th, 2001 the Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik GmbH, Friedrichshafen, recieved the certification for their airship type Zeppelin NT N07. The official document had been handed over within the opening ceremonies of the AERO 2001, an international aviation fair in Friedrichshafen at Lake Constance, by the LBA (Luftfahrt Bundesamt - like the FAA). The ZLT also recieved the certification as an airship manufacturer. Some other certifications like the certification for airship maintainance will follow up shortly. The first Zeppelin NT airship , like the second too, will be operated from Friedrichshafen as a homebase. The "Friedrichshafen" (D-LZFN) will be used as a trainig ship for pilots and crew. The second Zeppelin NT will absolve its maidenflight within the next weeks and from August 2001 it would be used for sight-seeing-tourism in the region of Lake Constance.

Zeppelin NT visited Frankfurt am Main

From September 25th -29th, 2000 the Zeppelin NT visited Frankfurt am Main. The airship was cruising a few hours daily over the Frankfurt Fairground and advertised for the ZF (Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen) Company to the IAA for Utility Vehicles. So some hours could be add to the total flighthours for the certification - about 750h had already done. The Zeppelin, that had been christend to the name "Friedrichshafen" on July 2nd, 2000, did already a Germany-Tour.
